Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Jennifer! Hello and welcome! My name is Jennifer, and I am a licensed therapist and certified eating disorder specialist with 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I graduated from California State University, Fullerton in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Queer Studies. I later returned to Cal State Fullerton to earn my master’s degree in Counseling, graduating in 2018. My approach Multicultural counseling involves a deep appreciation for the influence of culture, ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and other dimensions of identity on a person's worldview and mental health. By integrating culturally sensitive strategies, my goal is to explore, acknowledge, and honor the unique strengths and challenges that arise within the context of each individual's cultural background. The intention is to promote cultural competence, foster a sense of belonging, and ensure that therapy is a safe and affirming experience for all clients. My focus I love working with young adults and adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, as well as BIPOC clients. My communication style As a therapist, I prioritize creating a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. My communication style is warm and collaborative, aiming to foster trust and openness. My first session with you In our first session, we will spend time reviewing the therapy process, gathering information, getting to know each other, and identifying possible goals for our work together.
