Getting to know Jennifer PItman

I began my career in the mental health service community 27 years ago, first as a case manager and then as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2003. I began providing outpatient treatment to children, adolescents and adults who are facing anxiety, mood disorders, depression, relationship issues, trauma and grief. For me it has been a privilege to be able to do this kind of work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am genuine in my efforts and motivation to help others get their life back. Life throws such challenging situations at us that sometimes people just may need professional support.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is collaborative in nature. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help my clients identify thinking and behavior patterns that may be contributing to struggles. Other times it is best to approach differently depending on the issue. I always encourage feedback so that we can figure out what may or may not be helpful. You will not hurt my feelings, this process is for you.
