Getting to know Jennifer Schafer

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and have been practicing for over 11 years. I have provided therapeutic services to individuals of all ages. I have worked with children and adults with a range of socio-emotional, developmental, and behavioral problems at all stages of development. I enjoy working with individuals from all backgrounds and have experience with LGBTQ populations. I enjoy utilizing a variety of therapeutic techniques including art, play, mindfulness, and body movement to help clients communicate their needs and feelings in a way that best suits their abilities. I assist children and adult clients with managing trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, thought disorders, communication, and substance abuse. I work to provide clients with tailored treatment plans that can be integrated into their daily lives. My goal is to help each individual meet their true potential and be successful in their life with a strength-based approach. I have a master’s level education in Social Work as well as Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. I received my bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the University of Maryland. I have worked in several states including Pennsylvania, Maryland, and West Virginia, and I am currently licensed in Georgia. I have a certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and have worked with individuals who have experienced trauma for the past 9 years.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
