Hi there, I'm Jennifer! Hello, my name is Jen Thomason. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 7 years of clinical experience working with youth and adults, and 20 years of experience supporting families and children in social services. I believe in individualized, client-centered care designed to create a safe space for those facing the challenges and complexities of life. I prioritize building trust to create an environment where you feel empowered to speak your truth. I am passionate about helping people promote their overall well-being, manage emotional distress, and support their journey of healing and growth. My approach My theoretical framework includes cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered, strength-based, and solution-focused therapies, combined with mindfulness and motivational interviewing. My clinical approach is empathetic, collaborative, and goal-oriented. My focus I work with youth ages 13 and older, as well as adults seeking growth, healing, and change. My focus areas include life transitions, ADHD, childhood and intergenerational trauma, anxiety, depression, stress, grief, and chronic pain. I also specialize in caregiver support for adoptive parents and caregivers of parents, spouses, or children with special needs. My communication style My communication style is calm, respectful, engaging, and transparent. My goal is to build trust and create a safe and brave space where you feel heard and validated. My therapeutic environment is non-judgmental, inclusive, and patient. My journey to mental healthcare I earned my Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of North Dakota in 2006. After graduation, I began my career in Child Welfare, which deepened my passion for social justice issues including poverty, addiction, mental health, trauma, neurodiversity, racism, and inequity. In 2016, I graduated with my Master of Social Work from the University of Washington, marking the start of my clinical career.
