Psychotherapist
AR
Jenny Duke is an LPC specializing in trauma-focused methods such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). With over 10 years of experience working in the field of trauma, Jenny is happy to help you find healing. If you have a desire to improve relationships or are looking for tools to cope with grief, trauma, anxiety, or depression, you are invited to reach out and discuss your unique goals. Her practice is focused on systems theory, attachment theory, EMDR, TF-CBT, relaxation techniques, and coping skills. Jenny's favorite approach to therapy is attachment theory because it is the foundation of how each of us relates to one another. In turn, attachment is the primary factor impacting all our relational issues. Understanding our attachment style can greatly improve our life experiences and unlock healing. When meeting with couples, she uses the principles of Gottman theory to provide support to couples navigating their relational challenges. She has spent most of her career working with trauma clients and has grown to work with clients suffering from grief, depression, and anxiety. Jenny also meets with couples who are working on communication and resolving deeper issues that could impact trust. Jenny likes to create a safe space for clients by providing an open and understanding environment where they can communicate their most challenging concerns and fears. She keeps questions open and encourages clients to find their own strengths and path to healing. Jenny earned her Master's in Marriage and Family Counseling from John Brown University. She worked in child abuse and maltreatment for 10 years and became very familiar with how trauma impacts families and the long-term effects when it goes unresolved. She met many therapists who worked in the field of trauma and saw the profound impact they had on clients.
