Getting to know Jeremy Landry

Thank you for reviewing my profile. I have been working in the mental health field for twenty one years in different positions. While at Stephen F. Austin State University I earned a bachelor of arts in heath and human service with a specialization in vocational rehabilitation. Shortly after that I started working for a sex offender treatment program utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy and teaching psycho-educational classes. I transferred to the medical department where I provided case management, supportive counseling, rapid triage, and mental health evaluations. In 2013 I earned my master degree in psychology from LeTourneau University. Later in 2015 I became a fully licensed professional counselor. I have used cognitive behavior and processing, strength based, and dialectical therapy for the majority of my career. I have experience in treating patients with depression, bipolar, schizoaffective, post traumatic stress disorder, and physical disability. Mental health care is not about a diagnosis- it is about addressing the patient's needs and growth. At the same time I have to keep myself growing in happiness. In my free time I like to spend time listening to violin and piano music while I paint though spending time with my family is the most important thing. Supporting my kids in band, FFA and golf is a father's dream. Raising my kids with my wife and during the time I substituted at elementary school I learned the importance of happiness and growth at the younger ages just as much as adults. Courage is not the absence of fear but the ability to face our fears, learn from them and grow as a person.
