Jesse Gill, LCSW, MSW

Psychotherapist
13612 Midway Rd, Ste 605, Farmers Branch, TX
Through my years of therapeutic work, I have come to see that many of us feel we are not able to be authentic and genuine in our everyday lives. So often do we face aspects of our world that seem to pull us in different directions until we feel lost and that our lives have become something we don't recognize or even want. Whether that may be because of traumatic experiences that have wounded us, life transitions that have us feeling like we are on a road with no map, or many other causes known or unknown to us, we may feel unsafe, lost, and overwhelmed in ways that are consuming us.

Through my years of therapeutic work, I have come to see that many of us feel we are not able to be authentic and genuine in our everyday lives. So often do we face aspects of our world that seem to pull us in different directions until we feel lost and that our lives have become something we don't recognize or even want. What should a new client know about working with you?

For the many people who feel this way, being our true self and following our true values can be difficult because of our experiences and our mental wounds. Therapy is the first step for many to find their voice and recognize themselves again. It can be a space to take a deeper look at ourselves and give us the attention we have deserved and needed all along. This is the space I aim to provide. To achieve that, above all, I am a person centered and existential therapist. What this means is that I place a lot of weight on your understanding of yourself and your life. I see you as the main character of your life while I walk with you on this part of your journey. I aim to create a very curious and conversational environment in therapy that can often feel “go-with-the-flow” much of the time while also challenging and encouraging in a good-natured way. My goal is that, in working with me, you come to see yourself as more in-control, empowered, and authentic as you begin to take your power and your life back.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I received my MSW from Fordham University and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas. I have spent much of my career working with trauma and obsessive-compulsive disorder and while I may often be unstructured in the nature of our sessions, I provide much clearer guidelines, strategies, and education throughout these topics in the therapy experience. I use many methods including Cognitive Processing Therapy, Trauma- Focused CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and DBT skills for grounding and regulation.
