Psychotherapist
MA
My approach is rooted in Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, a powerful, evidence-based model that helps you understand and heal the different parts of yourself that influence your relationship with food, body image, and self-worth. Through IFS, we’ll work together to unburden the emotional pain, self-judgment, and past experiences holding you back. Navigating challenges related to health, body image, and self-acceptance can feel overwhelming. As a licensed clinical social worker with over a decade of experience, I provide a safe and judgment-free space to explore the emotional, behavioral & psych aspects of these struggles. Whether you’re working through emotional eating, body image distress, or adjusting to significant health changes, I offer support tailored to your unique needs. If you’re considering surgery as part of your health journey, I also provide evaluations and supportive counseling to help you navigate the process and am accepting NEW Clients :) If you are ready to schedule, you can select an appointment time for a consult that works for you. I look forward to supporting you!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Bariatric evaluations are 60-90 minutes. If you are using insurance, we’ll need to schedule two sessions to complete on different days (insurance rules). My self-pay rate is $220 for the evaluation, and $180/50 minutes for ongoing therapy or follow-ups. Here is a little breakdown of what we will cover. Your Goals and Motivation We’ll talk about why you’re pursuing surgery, what you hope to achieve, and what this change means to you. Weight and Dieting History We’ll review your past experiences with weight loss, diets, and your relationship with food. Mental Health and Emotional Well-being I’ll ask about your mental health history, current emotional state, and how you’re coping with stress or any challenges in your life. Eating Behaviors and Body Image We’ll explore any patterns like emotional eating, binge eating, or body image concerns that may impact your journey. Support and Readiness We’ll talk about your understanding of the surgery process, your support system, and your ability to follow through with medical recommendations. Life Stressors and Background I’ll ask about work, family, past trauma (if any), and any current life circumstances that might affect your recovery or ability to maintain changes after surgery. This evaluation is not a pass/fail test—it’s a supportive, respectful space to better understand your readiness and help you succeed long-term.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Once you book, that time is held for you. I have a late cancel fee of 100$ if the session is cancelled less than 24 hours prior. All paperwork must be completed before our first session and will be sent to you when you schedule your appointment.
