Jessica Auston, LPC

Psychotherapist
LA
Hi there, I'm Jessica! Grateful you have arrived-I'm here for you! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed by the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana Monroe. I work with men, women, and children of various ages experiencing difficulties that affect mood, thinking, and behavior. I specialize in ADHD, Anxiety, Adjustment Disorder, Bipolar, Depression, Panic Attacks, Mood Disorders, Stress, PTSD/Trauma, Grief, Schizophrenia, and Schizoaffective Disorder, using Client-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to focus on the client's needs. My approach My approach to providing therapy depends on the individual I am working with, which is why I use an eclectic approach tailored to meet each person's needs and goals. I customarily use Humanistic/Client-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Both of these theoretical approaches promote a safe environment that is empathetic and nonjudgmental, allowing therapist and client to work as a team to explore issues systematically toward realistic goals. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for teens and young adults who may be dealing with the challenges of life transitions and social pressures. This often takes the form of anxiety, adjustment disorder, depression, mood disorder, grief, stress, and trauma disorders. I work to help my clients navigate these transition periods and build skills that allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life. My communication style My communication style is enthusiastic, direct, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything; I pride myself on building good rapport and on my ability to listen without judgment.
