What should a new client know about working with you?

Her theoretical orientation for Art Therapy encompasses psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Expressive Arts Therapy, solution focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centered/Rogerian. This means that she focus in supporting you through a flexible and holistic lens using art to explore unconscious patterns, challenge unhelpful thoughts and express emotions that may be difficult to verbalize. She helps clients identify their strengths, clarify goals, and stay motivated towards meaningful change, all within a compassionate, nonjudgmental space that honors each person’s unique voice and creative process. She adapts methods to your need and use art as both a diagnostic and healing tool, helping you gain insight, build confidence, and move forwards with clarity. Finally, Jessica is oriented through a trauma-informed framework, which means she prioritize safety, choice, empowerment, and trust in the therapeutic relationship. She currently offers remote sessions online.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At “Serenity Through Art”, we believe that creativity has the power to heal, empower, and transform. Founded by Jessica Cabrera, I will offer creative empowerment therapy, with a passion for helping you reclaim their confidence, our mission is to provide a safe and inspiring space where you can reconnect with their inner strength through art. The therapy I provide is designed for clients who have experienced the emotional toll of difficult or unhealthy relationships or have grown up in restrictive, extremist religious environments. These experiences often leave lasting emotional scars, eroding self-worth and trust in one’s own voice. Through creative expression, I will help you rediscover your sense of self, build confidence, and find peace. At Serenity Through Art, it’s not about creating perfect art, it’s about embracing the creative process as a path to self-discovery and healing. Whether you’re picking up a paintbrush for the first time or reconnecting with a long-lost creative spark, you’ll find a welcoming space to explore express and grow. FIND your voice. HEAL through art. Step into your STRENGTH.
