Hey! Congratulations on taking the first step in your healing journey by being here. This is the hardest step, but the last one you do alone. I’m so honored you’re here, considering me to help you with what brought you here. I know asking for help can feel scary and overwhelming. You’re wondering if any of us really know how to help you or not. Working with a counselor you trust gives you a teammate in your fight for a better way of living than your current status quo. I specialize in working with people suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and navigating life transitions. My approach is trauma-informed and client-centered, meaning I meet you where you are and we tailor your sessions to meet your specific needs and goals, without any judgment included. My approach My goal is to help you feel comfortable in our sessions, where I talk with you, not at you or over you. I believe that a counseling relationship is based on the common goal of us helping you work through what brought you here, giving you more tools than you arrived with, and then severing the relationship when we both feel like healing and growth have occurred. We have conversations that, I hope, over time, help you build your trust in me to be vulnerable and share what brought you to counseling. This isn’t a rushed process, but on your timeline. I believe very strongly in self-empowerment and self-determination of my clients. Even with my highest level crisis clients that I see twice a week, that’s still only 8 hours a month we spend together. There’s A LOT of hours still left over to work on changing, reflecting, growing, and improving. We create a plan for you to use those other hours between our sessions towards your healing journey. During our sessions, we dive into what’s weighing you down to help you process and move past it. We work on helping you learn to manage and control your emotions outside of our sessions to function in your daily life more effectively.
