Getting to know Jessica Friel

Sometimes we find ourselves feeling stuck and unsure of what to do. Sometimes we think we know what the problem is but are unsure about what to do with that information. This is where therapy can come in - an open space in which to discuss what perhaps currently only exists in your mind. To let your thoughts breathe and to experience yourself without judgment from others and without judgment from yourself. To learn to accept yourself as who you are, to find ways to cope, healthier ways to live, and to go forward into the world with more confidence. Our world is fast paced and the demands are high. The effects of this environment cause us to be overstimulated and disconnected. I invite you to find connection and mindfulness in my practice. Stay well!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I specialize in working with children, teens and young adults struggling with anxiety, ADHD, and ASD. This comes from a background of teaching and having personal experiences in these areas. I have an ADHD certification from evergreen certifications. I offer individual and family counseling.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In a typical session I use a variety of tools to suit the needs of my client. This can be talk-therapy, CBT, DBT, or playing games. Everyone is different and bringing something in to the space so I believe that approach should be tailor made. With collaboration from both of us we discuss goals and what you are looking for in terms of support!
