Getting to know Jessica Garcia

My own experiences navigating challenges within my family system and relationships, along with my experience receiving support and doing my own healing work, inspired me to become a therapist. I understand how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help, and I feel honored to offer individuals, couples, and families a compassionate space where they can feel heard, reconnect with themselves, and create meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am an animal lover and share my home with dogs and chickens, whom I consider part of my family. They bring companionship, humor, and connection to my everyday life, and caring for them has taught me to appreciate the simple routines and relationships that bring joy and grounding. I also enjoy yoga, creativity, and creating intentional moments of calm and connection in my daily life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I will listen with warmth, curiosity, and compassion while honoring your experiences without judgment or assumptions. I will check in regularly to make sure I understand you, adapt my approach to your needs and goals, and create space for you to share what feels helpful, uncomfortable, or important in our work together. Our work together will be collaborative, trauma-informed, and appropriately directive, with an approach that is adapted to each person, relationship, family, and stage of life. I take therapy seriously, and when you are ready and willing to engage in the process, I will come alongside you with clear feedback, practical tools, and gentle accountability. I will help you explore the patterns, emotions, experiences, and protective responses that may be affecting your life while supporting you in turning insight into action through communication, boundaries, emotional regulation, repair, and meaningful change. I also believe therapy can include warmth, humor, and moments of lightness, because healing does not have to feel heavy every minute.
