Jessica Goehring, ASW

Psychotherapist
CA
I have a passion for working with neurodivergent folks, transitional age youth and young adults, LGBTQIA+ folks, and individuals experiencing anxiety and depression. I utilize a strength-based and person-centered approach to therapy that treats individuals as the experts of their own experiences. This includes an eclectic combination of humanistic, attachment, object relations, grief and loss, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioral informed perspectives. Cultural humility and social justice are also core elements of my practice. My hope is that through our work together, clients will not only develop a better understanding of themselves but will also understand how core relationships and systemic factors have influenced their lived experiences. I want my clients to leave sessions feeling empowered by an increased understanding of themselves, equipped with a toolkit to make the changes they need towards greater wellness and fulfillment in their lives. I was first drawn to the field of social work due to its focus on a systems and social justice informed approach to mental health. I received my bachelor’s degree in molecular biology from Princeton University in 2019 and graduated with my Master’s Degree in Social Work from University of Southern California in 2022. My clinical training has consisted of providing services to clients of various backgrounds, age ranges, and clinical presentations in both community mental health and university college counseling settings. Through these experiences, I have learned the value of understanding the interconnected relationship between physical health, mental health, and one’s social environment.
