Getting to know Jessica Hartman

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas. I graduated in 2019 with a Master’s in Counseling and Development from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. I spent the first 7 years of my career as a Teacher and the last 6 as a Professional School Counselor. As a military spouse and a mother of 6, I had the privilege to work across several states including Texas, Colorado and Missouri. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out on my farm with my family, 2 dogs, 6 chickens and some cows. I am also a children’s author who enjoys writing social-emotional learning books for kids. I have extensive experience with kids and adolescents of diverse backgrounds, helping them process thoughts and emotions and understand their circle of control. I consider myself a "forever learner" and am open to working with all ages and backgrounds.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My person-centered approach allows me to build strong therapeutic alliances and create a supportive, judgement free space where clients can discover their personal strength, while empowering their growth. I truly believe therapy should be tailored to my client and utilize several techniques including CBT, bibliotherapy, play and other treatment modalities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During our first few sessions, we will get to know one another, complete an intake assessment and develop a personalized treatment plan based on your needs and goals. Ongoing sessions are typically 60 minutes weekly, with both in-person and virtual options available. At this time, I offer private pay only.
