Psychotherapist
AZ
Are you struggling with anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, or just dealing with too much stress? Is depression settling in and stealing your energy and joy? Let's talk about it! I am Jessica Hauser, an independently licensed counselor (LPC) and clinical supervisor. I have been a counselor for 15 years. I believe that change is possible and that therapy can be a very positive, healing, and rewarding experience for anyone. I work collaboratively with clients to identify goals and treatment options for a variety of presenting problems. The work I do with clients is important to me, and I provide only evidence-based practices, techniques, and interventions. Specialties include anxiety, self-esteem, coping skills, depression, and grief issues. Life is a rollercoaster of emotions, and you do not have to go through this alone. I understand we all have issues. I am not here to tell you what you want to hear, but to tell you what you need to hear. I am upfront and to the point. I will be encouraging you and helping you in this journey of life, but you need to put in the work. I will personalize your treatment plan and goals for what you want to work on. I may assign homework for you to work on in between sessions to help aid your counseling experience. I hope we get the chance to work together soon.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am real, honest, and direct in my communication style. I tried to meet clients where they are at. I wanted to become a counselor when my mom passed away when I was 18 years old. I went to a horrible grief counselor who was pushing medication, and I thought to myself, "I could do a better job than he can". I felt the counselor was lacking empathy and understanding. I was only depressed because of my mom's death, and was not feeling empathy from him. This was the start of me becoming a counselor. Now I have been a counselor for 15 years and love helping others.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Counseling is a collaborative process where we work together to develop goals. I will not be acting superior or demanding things from you. My goal is to be an aid and a positive support to you. We will have tele-health sessions via a secure video portal. In our first session, we will create a treatment plan together, go over goals, and I will get to know you. We will set up how often you want to meet for counseling and adjust how often I see you based on your progress made in counseling.
