What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that working with Jessica feels relaxed, collaborative, and free of pressure. She believes therapy should be a space where you can show up exactly as you are without feeling judged, rushed, or expected to have all the answers. Jessica primarily uses a person-centered approach while incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthier patterns, and move toward the life they want to create. Jessica believes clients should lead the conversation and have the freedom to share what they want, when they want, and in a way that feels natural to them. She recognizes that opening up can be difficult, especially for those who may feel hesitant or uncertain about therapy. Rather than pushing clients before they are ready, she creates an environment built on trust, patience, and genuine connection. As a first-generation Mexican-American and biracial woman, Jessica also understands the complexities of balancing multiple cultures, identity, family expectations, and personal experiences. She brings both professional knowledge and lived experience into the therapy room. Jessica is fully present during sessions and pays close attention not only to what is being said, but also to body language, facial expressions, and moments of internal resistance that may provide insight into deeper experiences. She is comfortable with silence, tears, and quiet moments, allowing clients space to process without pressure. Clients often describe Jessica's style as calm, open, and genuine. Her goal is to help clients feel safe enough to bring their authentic selves into therapy while supporting them in creating meaningful growth and change at a pace that feels right for them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Jessica believes therapy works best when clients feel safe, respected, and comfortable being themselves. Building trust and maintaining confidentiality are foundational parts of her process. She understands that opening up can feel vulnerable, so she creates a private, supportive, and judgment-free space where clients can share openly and know their experiences are treated with care and respect. During the first session, Jessica focuses on getting to know each client beyond symptoms or diagnoses. She takes time to understand your story, current challenges, relationships, cultural experiences, strengths, and goals for therapy. Together, you will identify what you hope to gain from counseling and create goals that feel meaningful and realistic for your life. Jessica primarily uses a person-centered approach while incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Sessions are relaxed and collaborative rather than rigid or overly structured. Clients are encouraged to lead the conversation and discuss what feels most important to them. Jessica believes healing does not happen by forcing a process, but by creating space for clients to move at a pace that feels comfortable. Throughout sessions, Jessica pays close attention not only to what clients say, but also to body language, facial expressions, and moments of hesitation or internal resistance that may provide deeper insight. She helps clients identify patterns, connect experiences from session to session, and understand how those experiences may be impacting daily life. Clients can expect Jessica to be fully present during sessions. She is comfortable with silence, tears, reflection, and difficult emotions, creating room for authentic processing and meaningful growth. Her goal is for clients to leave therapy feeling heard, understood, and supported as they work toward lasting change.

Before your first appointment, our team will gather and verify your commercial insurance benefits to help you clearly understand your financial responsibility. This includes confirming coverage, eligibility, copay, coinsurance, deductible status, and any authorization requirements. Once verified, we will provide an estimate of your expected cost per session so there are no surprises. Jessica is an LPC-Associate supervised by Jenee Shannon Dusza, LPC-Supervisor. She is able to accept some commercial insurance plans under supervisory billing, and our team will confirm your eligibility prior to your first session. If your insurance is not accepted, Brittany also offers a reduced cash pay rate to help make services more accessible. As a courtesy, we submit claims on your behalf and work directly with your insurance company. We follow your plan’s Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and will only collect what is determined to be your responsibility. If a claim is processed differently than initially estimated, we will communicate any updates clearly and promptly. We also accept many Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), which may provide a set number of sessions at little to no cost. Our team will verify and help coordinate these benefits when applicable. Our goal is to keep the financial side of therapy simple, transparent, and manageable—so you can focus on your care.
