Assertive communication is a necessary skill if a client wants to create boundaries. It is important for Jessica to make mental health treatment as accessible as possible and offer hours outside of the normal 9-to-5 on weekdays. Jessica also thinks it is vital to explain in the first session about consent during treatment—that you, as the client, have complete control over how much you are willing to share while trust is being built. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys expression through the arts, utilizing vibrant colors through several different mediums of acrylic paint, crochet, jewelry making, and dancing. She also likes a game night with friends, whether it is a card game or online computer gaming.
