Psychotherapist

I am Jessica Ronyak, LMHC, LPCC, the founder and clinical director of Lōmii Studio, a trauma therapy practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I am licensed in both Florida and Ohio and serve as a Qualified Supervisor in Florida. My practice focuses on adults navigating complex trauma, including relational trauma, religious trauma, medical trauma, sexual trauma, betrayal trauma, and the more subtle patterns that can persist long after the original circumstances have changed. I also work with anxiety and depression that have trauma at the root. My core training is in EMDR. I am EMDR Certified and an EMDR Consultant in Training, with additional training in Attachment-Focused EMDR (Laurel Parnell). I am certified through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute as a Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy provider, and I offer Ketamine-Assisted EMDR for clients for whom that integration may be clinically appropriate. My orientation blends EMDR with attachment theory, body-based attention, and parts work. I tend to work with adults who have done significant insight-based therapy and have found that understanding alone has not moved the experience the way they had hoped. Sessions at our practice are 90 minutes rather than the standard 50, which gives reprocessing the time it tends to need to complete its arc within a single session. I exclusively offer EMDR Intensives, which are concentrated multi-session formats designed to do focused trauma work within a planned window rather than spread across months of weekly sessions. For clients seeking weekly therapy, I refer within our team at Lōmii Studio.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Sessions are a minimum of 90 minutes. The longer format is structural for trauma reprocessing. It gives a session time to complete activation, processing, and re-stabilization without rushing any of those phases. I work at a steady, deliberate pace. For clients with complex trauma histories, I spend meaningful time on stabilization and resourcing before moving into reprocessing. I do not push toward processing before there is sufficient capacity to hold it. The work tends to go faster when it is paced right than when it is forced. Clients who fit well with my approach are typically introspective, open to body-based work, and looking for something beyond insight-based talk therapy. Many arrive having spent years in traditional therapy and want to address material that has not shifted through that work alone. I see clients weekly and also offer EMDR Intensives, which are concentrated multi-day formats appropriate for some presentations and goals. Whether weekly or intensive work is the better fit is something we discuss during the initial consultation. Our practice is private pay.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with a brief consultation call to assess fit and orient to the work. From there, the work opens with a comprehensive intake and assessment, which includes clinical history, target identification for the trauma material we will be addressing together, and screening for dissociation. Assessing for dissociation is a standard part of trauma-focused work and informs how reprocessing is paced and structured for each client. Following intake, we move into a preparation phase focused on stabilization, resourcing, and building capacity for processing. The length of this phase varies by client and presentation. Some clients are ready to move into reprocessing within a session or two; others benefit from a longer preparation arc, particularly when complex trauma is present. I exclusively offer EMDR Intensives, which are concentrated formats that take place over multiple sessions across consecutive days or scheduled within a planned window. Each session is 90 minutes or longer, with sufficient time for activation, processing, and re-stabilization within the session itself. For clients whose work benefits from additional support around daily functioning, I collaborate with Emmy Slaibe, OTR/L, an occupational therapist on our team at Lōmii Studio, who works with body systems, routines, and functional support. This integrated approach can be particularly useful for clients whose trauma responses have affected sleep, sensory regulation, energy management, or daily routines. Following the intensive, we discuss integration and next steps, which may include follow-up sessions with me, transition to one of our weekly EMDR clinicians at Lōmii Studio, or referral elsewhere depending on what fits best.
