What should a new client know about working with you?

I have always had empathy and a passion for the human spirit. Prior to my career in mental health, I spent time working as a life and career coach. This eventually led me my career path and I am grateful for all it has taught me along the way. My first half of my career in mental health was working with young adults and adults struggling with addiction and eating disorders. Most clients had a history with trauma. A subject I spent one year solely focused on studying during doctoral work. It was a natural connection for me, as natural as connecting with all things important to me. I decided that trauma, addiction, anxiety and depression would become a focus of mine through my own private practice so I could meet others where they're at.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy should feel like you are talking to a friend who has the ability to share insight and perspective you would not get from a friend who is emotionally attached to your decisions or has too many of their own to make. There should be chemistry and even some good humor. Afterall, laughing is still the best medicine. I tailor my sessions to my clients needs, personality, and age.
