Getting to know Jessica Vlossak

I have extensive passion and experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, Bipolar, personality traits, eating disorders, and substance abuse. I am highly trained in foundational and advanced DBT training and have experience working with individuals with risk concerns (suicidal and self-harm). I have completed IAEDP training for eating disorder treatment and I have worked as a counselor in IOP/PHP settings, outpatient, intensive-in-home for youth, adolescents, and adults. I have leadership experience as a Director for IOP/PHP programs for mental health and substance abuse. My primary focus to help my clients is to use an eclectic style to fit the therapy modalities that will be most successful for them. Whether that is CBT, DBT, strength-based, positive psychology, ACT, trauma-informed care, or mindfulness. I value talk-therapy as well as skill-based approaches to introduce long-lasting behavioral and emotional change. I have worked with clients going through life stressors, work-life imbalance, family and marital stressors (on an individual level), academic and professional stressors, trauma history, and more! I value building rapport with my clients, creating a safe space, and identifying their value based goals for the utmost success. Jessica Vlossak is a Licensed Professional Counselor, license number 37PC00840100. She earned her Master’s in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. We do not complete couples or marriage/family therapy, medication management, IEP evaluations, pre-surgery evaluations, psychosexual evaluations, or evaluations for court or custody.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have been trained in an evidenced based therapeutic approach called Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and completed a comprehensive training for working with eating disorder individuals. This allows me to work with your needs to adjust your behaviors and work with higher-risk needs. I have a warm and validating approach, but I am also comfortable with gentle challenges and exploration to patterns that reveal themselves. I value psychoeducation for concepts and skills to promote long lasting change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I focus on a person-centered and eclectic approach to get to know you and help you align your goals. I focus on empowering and strength-based approaches as well as stabilization.
