Getting to know Dr. Jessica Warrick

Hi! I'm Jessica. I have been a Clinical Mental Health Counselor since 2014, and since then I have collected a wide range of clinical experiences both in pediatric and adult mental health treatment. I completed my Doctoral degree in 2023 in Counselor Education and Supervision and teach full time at a local university. Wondering what that "RPT" behind my name means? It stands for Registered Play Therapist. The importance of play, connection, and engagement in learning and retaining new information is at the core of how I work.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide counseling services in-office and virtually for clients 8+ years old. I utilize primarily Client-Centered and Solution-Focused therapeutic approaches. Using these modalities, we lean into what's worked in the past, how we can tap into your personal strengths and resources, and find momentum to move towards resolution and feeling better. I have a long history of successful work with a broad range of people: from kids to parents, couples to families, and students to professionals. I am LGBTQIA+ friendly and am non-judgmental in my approach to counseling. If you're ready to take steps towards feeling better, I look forward to hearing from you!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to counseling involves getting to know you, asking questions and filling in lots of blanks to help me fully understand the situation and all of the moving parts. Then we'll discuss what progress looks like for you and what you're hoping to get out of counseling. From there we'll work collaboratively together to honor the sticking points and problem-solve how to move in a direction you can be proud of.
