Psychotherapist

I believe we are all created for authentic connection, and that being loved and known are core needs. It is my priority to see you, hear you, and fully value you so we can journey through your pain together towards healing, freedom, and purposeful living. I will help you understand yourself more deeply so you grow more confident to explore and take new risks in your life and relationships. I specialize in helping women, teens, performing artists, third culture kids (TCKs), and Christians with identity, trauma, relationships, depression, shame, career, body image, church hurt, anxiety, and life purpose. I also work with people in Christian ministry. I treat the whole person—mind, body, soul, spirit—and welcome your pain here. I’m honored to immerse myself in your story and make your healing and growth my priority. I earned my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Regent University. I grew up in the DC area, have moved many times, and now live in Chicago with my husband. Prior to counseling, I was a dance teacher and performing artist and served in ministry supporting women locally and overseas. I love traveling, cooking, dancing, doing home projects, reading, and being outdoors.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm honored to immerse myself in your story and make your healing and growth our priority. I will create a space that is warm, non-judging, and compassionate for exploration, risks, & growth. I believe you are the expert on your life and already carry inside what you need to heal; I will join with you to help draw that out. There's more to life than just trying to survive. I specialize in different kinds of trauma & anxiety in neurodivergent adults, Christians, creatives, & those in ministry. I can also provide support for thought patterns, depression, purpose, church hurt, & unwanted sexual behavior. I may draw from a range of tools, including talk therapy, inner child work, EMDR, ACT, practical lifestyle changes, or faith integration if desired.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

It is my preference to meet weekly at least for the first 4-6 sessions to establish a strong therapeutic relationship and so you can feel momentum in the work. If that isn't possible, we can adjust to bi-weekly if needed. In the first 2 sessions, I will invite you to share what brings you to therapy and any specific areas you want to see change or growth. I will take at least 2 sessions to gather history and assessment of symptoms to ensure I have a thorough and complete picture of your present-day needs in the context of your story. As an attachment-trained therapist, I pay particular attention to how you see yourself and others in the context of relationships. This may include questionnaires that we will discuss together. From there, we will discuss areas that have emerged as priority for our focus so you have a sense of where we are going and what will be part of the path forward. I will regularly check in with you about how the work is feeling for you and invite your feedback, and adjust accordingly.
