Getting to know Jessie Zamora

Hello there, Great to meet you. My name is Jessie Zamora, LMHC, dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey toward healing, balance, and emotional well-being. My goal is to provide a compassionate, safe, and empowering environment where clients feel understood and supported as they work through life’s challenges. I earned my Master’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Mental Health Counseling, from Albizu University in Miami, where I graduated with honors. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, and the elderly population across a wide range of emotional and psychological concerns. My main focus is to help clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions.

What should a new client know about working with you?

When you work with me, you can expect a space that feels safe, supportive, and judgment-free. I understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, so my approach is centered on helping you feel comfortable being yourself—exactly as you are. My style is collaborative and down-to-earth. I don’t see therapy as me telling you what to do, but rather as us working together to understand what’s going on and figure out what will actually help you feel better. I listen closely, ask thoughtful questions, and meet you where you are emotionally. I use a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, often integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and practical coping tools. This means we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, and experiences are connected, while also focusing on real-life strategies you can use outside of session. At the same time, I believe healing happens through connection, so our work is always grounded in empathy, respect, and trust. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming in. Some clients come with clear goals, others just know something doesn’t feel right—and both are completely okay. We’ll move at a pace that feels safe for you, adjusting as your needs change. Most importantly, I want you to know that you won’t be judged, rushed, or pressured. Whether you’re working through trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, or feeling stuck, my goal is to help you feel more empowered, more understood, and more confident as you move forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Each session is guided by your needs, but there is a general flow that helps keep our work focused and meaningful. We usually start by checking in—talking about how you’ve been feeling since our last session, what’s been coming up for you, and anything important that happened during the week. This helps me understand what you need most in that moment. From there, we focus on what feels most relevant to you that day. Some sessions may involve talking through emotions, experiences, or past events, while others may be more practical and skill-focused. I often help clients notice patterns in their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and we work together to understand how those patterns may be impacting their daily lives. When helpful, I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, mindfulness, and grounding strategies to support emotional regulation and coping. If trauma is part of your experience, we always move at a pace that feels safe and respectful, prioritizing stability and trust. Toward the end of each session, we usually reflect on what stood out or felt meaningful. This might include identifying insights, practicing a coping skill, or setting a small, realistic intention to work on between sessions. There’s no pressure to “do therapy perfectly”—the process is flexible and tailored to you. Overall, sessions are a balance of support, exploration, and practical tools, all within a calm, non-judgmental environment. My goal is for you to leave each session feeling heard, grounded, and a little more equipped to handle whatever comes next.
