What should a new client know about working with you?

Jihane approaches counseling as a collaborative partnership, where therapist and client work closely together to navigate a path of exploration, insight, and personal development. Jihane is a firm believer that each client has its own unique way of approaching growth and change, and therefore makes it a personal challenge to understand the client's unique worldview and tailor her approach to clients' individual goals and needs.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

First, Jihane places an emphasis on connecting with the client; getting to know them and getting familiar with their unique worldview and experiences. What follows is working with clients to identify what will be the treatment goals that will be worked and focused on in order to reduce the symptoms that brought them to therapy in the first place. Finally, drawing from various therapeutic modalities, including Exposure and Response Prevention, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness therapy, Jihane adapts her sessions to promote optimal change. In order to make her approach more individualized, Jihane encourages clients to share their preferences and feedback about the therapeutic process and work towards integrating them in the therapeutic process. She has experience with populations with OCD, perfectionism, social anxiety, personality disorders, and disabilities.
