Psychotherapist
WY
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). My approach to therapy is working in the here and now, navigating uncharted waters, and walking the changing life journey with clients. I enjoy assisting people with challenges from managing stress, anxiety, depression, coping with grief and loss, relationship issues, parenting, autistic behaviors, defiance, anger, and obsessive thoughts/behaviors. You know and my role is to assist you in being successful, calm, and at a place where you can be at peace. My approach I am client-centered, working on individual needs using methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, trauma-focused CBT, and Reality. My focus I typically work with teenagers, adults, veterans and families that are dealing with situations such as body image, self-esteem/confidence, work related stress, communication problems, forgiveness, guilt and shame, isolation/loneliness, grief, mood disorders, panic disorders/panic attacks, post traumatic stress, self love, criminal reintegration, family court issues (divorce, child custody, state custody), and school related struggles. My communication style My communication style is very real, yet gentle. I feel that my acceptance, calm, and casual behavior will make clients feel comfortable, cared for, and listened to. My journey to mental healthcare When I was in college, I worked for an agency that provided therapy as a secretary. I enjoyed watching people evolve from the time they did their intake to the time they were discharged. Upon graduation, I was able to work in a girls' group home and a home for addicted women and their children. I learned how to love people for who they are and that being kind, compassionate, and caring goes a long way in making someone feel safe and heard.
