What should a new client know about working with you?

Coming into session with me will consist of a safe and calming space where all ages, races/ethnicities, genders, socioeconomic status or sexual orientation is welcome. I will ensure that I meet all clients exactly where they are at. Whatever stage they are in their healing and growth journey I will be a support and guide for them. I believe in my clients capabilities and strengths and will continue to do so until they can fully realize and accept them themselves no matter how long the process is. Each session will consist of a therapist who prides themselves on having an empathetic, Understanding, trusting, fun loving and a no judgement attitude. Therapy does not always have to be such serious talks all the time so I also pride myself for knowing when the right time someone needs a good laugh or giggle to brighten up their mood or day!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I will help by being a listening ear to what ever is needed to be worked on or talked about in the moment. While listening I also will incorporate the right amount of psycho-education on what ever is being worked on so the client is well informed on how their mind and body work. This also includes teaching mindfulness techniques that clients can use in their own lives to better feel attached to their own reality. I also like to feed off the Strengths Perspective by helping clients realize their capabilities and strengths in their own life. For children, these techniques may show in a different capacity for their understanding, but are still useful to incorporate. The use of play and activities will be used to help the child build rapport, trust, and validation through a therapy session.
