I am passionate about helping people overcome, heal, and succeed. With over 20 years of experience, I have helped many clients uncover their true selves, overcome significant obstacles, and live meaningful lives consistent with their values and goals. I tailor my therapy using the most effective approaches to fit each individual and their unique circumstances. I can help you develop tools for handling situations, emotions, and relationships effectively. I believe in supporting people to live balanced lives-mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The result? Greater clarity, serenity, joy, purpose, and improved relationships with yourself and others. I hold a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University and a Bachelor's degree from Lubbock Christian University. I offer a safe, comfortable, and confidential environment for personal growth and healing. While I have worked with a wide range of issues, I specialize in helping people overcome anxiety, depression, life transitions, eating disorders, chemical and sexual addictions, trauma, and relationship difficulties. If therapy could help you find what you're looking for in life, don't you owe it to yourself to try? You're worth it! I would value the chance to help you get the most out of your life today.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Entering my third decade as a therapist, I bring professionalism, experience, and authenticity into the therapy process. My office is always a judgment free zone and I meet clients where they are in their journey. I am trained as an integrative therapist, which means I am trained in multiple approaches and perspectives, and therefore can tailor my approach to what will work best for you. We will go through your history to determine which relationships, wounds and traumas need to be better understood and healed, and how your past might be affecting your present. So often our past is having an impact on our present without us even being aware of it. Gaining insight into our past and present, attending to and healing past wounds and trauma, and learning tools and strategies to better cope individually and in our relationships is what therapy is all about. Being able to change unhealthy patterns of thinking and behaving can lead to a much more fulfilling and joyful life. I use evidence-based therapies and techniques that are proven to help anxiety, depression, relationships, and trauma. In working with trauma, I am a certified EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapist, and also am trained in Brain Spotting. I love walking alongside of people to help them get where they want to be in their life and relationships. I am also a certified Life Coach and I have a therapy dog (in training) that is usually at my office. In 2022 we adopted a mini schnauzer (Buddy). He had such a great disposition that I decided to train him to be a therapy dog. He brings comfort, cuteness, and all the unconditional love you could ask for.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I can meet in-person or virtually whichever you prefer. My practice is an individual practice located in a group called Counseling Associates. The first session is always an information gathering session to explore why you are coming into therapy, symptoms you are experiencing, and a brief individual and family history. Towards the end of the first session we will work together to set the goals you want to work on in therapy. I view the first session or two as a funnel where we go from broad information gathering to start focusing on what is most important to you. If you are wanting to file for out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for you to submit directly to your insurance for reimbursement.
