I am a first-generation, Latinx, Mexican American female. As someone who has struggled, fought, and overcome, I consider it a privilege to assist others in finding their way through their journey. I am a dancer, an artist, a creator, a mother, a wife, a survivor, a counselor, and a Ph.D. student in marriage and family therapy-roles that enrich the creative connection I believe therapy to be. Counseling is an art form in which a person is given permission to access what is most personal, private, and possibly broken within. I believe it takes creativity, passion, and humility to enter into the therapeutic connection, walking alongside someone through their pain, struggle, or uncertainty. I earned my Master's in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman's University, which has deepened my understanding and skills in supporting clients. Growing up as a Mexican, first-generation college student and now successful, I understand the pain, trauma, and survival that come from being a person of color or from a different culture, community, or religious background than mainstream America. I am carefully attuned to these differences as I work with diverse ethnic cultures, the LGBTQ population, and various religious backgrounds. I am an ally, and my goal and intention are to help everyone along their journeys succeed and thrive in whatever direction they feel led. Once registered, you can log in to Tava to join your session, book additional sessions, and message your therapist. Appointments are for talk therapy over video.
