Getting to know JoAnn Rey

Hi, I'm JoAnn. A client once said to me, "I feel so heavy every day, it's like I'm swimming in mud." Many times, people feel this way but don’t really know why. Everything is a struggle, even just trying to express a thought or a feeling. It's so hard to feel happy and free or enjoy certain moments when mental and emotional struggles make you feel physically weighed down. Stress, anxiety, and depression all have the capacity to make you feel unmotivated and downright exhausted before you even start your day. It's important for you to understand the effects stress, anxiety, or depression can have on you—not only mentally and emotionally but physically as well. Let me help you work through those struggles so that you can feel free and enjoy life again. I hold a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Wayland Baptist University, and I am dedicated to supporting you on your journey toward healing and well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During our first session, I will do the initial assessment. This means I will ask you several questions regarding why you sought counseling. This is necessary so that I know as much as I can in order to help you, better. Of course there are things you may not feel comfortable talking about, initially and that's okay. We will get there, eventually. After the first session, we will set some therapeutic goals - what you want to work towards through counseling and then your journey to improvement begins.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
