Jocelin Molina, LMSW

Jocelin Molina, LMSW

Psychotherapist
NY
I have extensive experience working with Hispanic and Latine communities, Spanish-speaking clients, BIPOC individuals, LGBTQ+ individuals, and those impacted by housing instability, foster care involvement, family separation, and systemic barriers. Together, we create a supportive space to explore your experiences, strengthen self-understanding, and build a life that feels more authentic, connected, and fulfilling. As a bilingual therapist with Mexican American roots, I provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy for adolescents, young adults, and adults. My work is grounded in intergenerational trauma, cultural identity, attachment, and the unique experiences of first-generation, immigrant-origin, and bicultural individuals navigating life between different worlds. I specialize in helping clients work through anxiety, family conflict, identity concerns, relationship challenges, self-esteem issues, and the lasting impact of childhood and generational experiences. My approach recognizes how culture, immigration, family expectations, and survival-based coping strategies shape our emotional well-being and relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and culturally responsive. I believe healing happens when people feel seen, understood, and supported without judgment. I strive to create a space where clients can bring their full selves, including the parts shaped by culture, family, identity, and lived experience. My work is grounded in attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and an understanding of how intergenerational experiences influence our relationships, self-worth, and emotional well-being. Together, we will explore patterns that may no longer serve you, process difficult experiences, and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others. Therapy with me is not about "fixing" you. It is about helping you better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a life that feels more aligned with who you are and who you want to become.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions focus on getting to know you, understanding what brings you to therapy, and exploring the experiences, relationships, and challenges that have shaped your life. Together, we will identify your goals and develop a plan that feels meaningful and relevant to your needs. In ongoing sessions, we create space to explore current concerns, emotional patterns, relationships, and life transitions while building insight, coping skills, and self-understanding. Depending on your goals, we may focus on processing past experiences, navigating family and cultural dynamics, strengthening relationships, or developing healthier ways of managing stress and emotions. Therapy is a collaborative process. I work at a pace that feels comfortable for you while providing support, curiosity, and guidance as you move toward healing and growth.
