Psychotherapist
TX
I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master's in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. I see clients residing in Texas and specialize in anxiety, depression, life transitions, and substance use disorders. I'm particularly interested in assisting women who face the challenges associated with these issues. My approach My therapeutic approach begins with identifying each client's unique needs. I draw from a variety of evidence-based methods that embrace a holistic view of therapy. I believe everyone has strengths, and we can achieve so much more when we focus on them. For example, clients with a history of trauma might benefit from focusing on their resilience and working through any negative self-talk they've developed. I also recognize the importance of mindfulness in therapy, helping clients tune in to their thoughts and feelings to better understand and accept themselves. My focus I enjoy working with women to resolve issues that affect their daily interactions, such as anxiety, self-doubt, depression, stress management, and difficulties in primary relationships. I use various cognitive behavioral approaches to support self-discovery and growth. My communication style For me, effective therapy is an authentic interaction between two people. The therapeutic relationship is an ongoing, collaborative conversation where I strive to meet each individual where they are and help them explore how they want to move forward. Humor and storytelling are useful tools for providing perspective and keeping sessions engaging. My journey to mental healthcare Throughout my life, I've believed I'm exactly where I need to be. It hasn't always been easy, but it has allowed me to draw on my personal resilience, building it like a muscle. I understand what it feels like to be deeply unhappy and to want very much to move forward in life.
