What should a new client know about working with you?

Before transitioning into social work, I spent several years as a teacher, where I was able to a deep understanding of how to support individuals through challenges and nurture personal growth. I have also taught at Shade Tree Academy working with children impacted by foster care. This foundation has continued to shape my work as a therapist, where I specialize in helping clients navigate childhood trauma, grief, attachment wounds, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and complex family dynamics. At the heart of my practice is a strengths-based approach. I am committed to helping clients recognize and harness their inherent strengths as a pathway to healing and growth. By fostering self-compassion and creating a safe, supportive environment, I empower clients to build resilience, embrace their personal strengths, and move forward with confidence. I integrate a range of evidence-based modalities, including play therapy, sand tray therapy, DBT, CBT, mindfulness, and art therapy, to tailor my work to each client’s unique needs and support lasting, meaningful change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At Deserts Bloom Therapy, the process begins with a brief consultation to ensure a good fit, followed by an initial assessment to understand each client’s needs and goals; from there, therapy is tailored to the individual—using play-based approaches for children and supportive, insight-focused counseling for teens and adults—while providing ongoing guidance, collaboration, and a consistent space for growth, with care thoughtfully adjusted over time and a supportive transition as goals are met.
