What should a new client know about working with you?

I began my career as a teacher, which gave me a deep understanding of how to support growth and navigate challenges. I also taught at Shade Tree Academy, where I worked with children impacted by foster care. Those experiences inform my work as a therapist, where I help clients address childhood trauma, grief, attachment wounds, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and complex family dynamics. My practice centers on a strengths-based approach: I help you recognize and harness your inherent strengths as a path to healing, while fostering self-compassion in a safe, supportive environment. I integrate a range of evidence-based modalities—play therapy, sand tray therapy, DBT, CBT, mindfulness, and art therapy—so we can tailor our work to your unique needs and support lasting, meaningful change.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

At Desert Bloom Therapy, the process starts with a brief consultation to ensure a good fit, followed by an initial assessment to understand your needs and goals. Therapy is then tailored to you as an individual—utilizing play-based approaches for children and supportive, insight-focused counseling for teens and adults. Throughout, you’ll receive ongoing guidance, collaboration, and a steady, safe space for growth, with care adapted over time and a thoughtful transition as goals are met.
