Hello!
I am Jodi. I am both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida (License # MH 16580) and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (License # 10919) in the state of North Carolina. I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University (1992) and a bachelor’s degree from Boston University (1989).
I have had the privilege of helping clients who reach out to me for guidance and mentoring during difficult times in their lives and have served them to the best of my ability for over 30 years. I bring my passion, knowledge, and training with me in my work and am committed to each client I see. I will always encourage personal growth and self-exploration with the hope of fostering a better and brighter way of living for YOU.
Counseling and therapy are grounded in a strong alliance between myself and YOU (my client) and based on unconditional positive regard, respect, and empathy. Actively listening to your story, your thoughts, your feelings, your reactions—all with acceptance and validation—are the key and essential building blocks to the work you will engage in while in counseling. That work will lead YOU to a better self-perception, which will in turn lead you to take the active steps necessary for growth, development, and empowerment.
