Psychotherapist
CA
Are you struggling with depression, anxiety or emotional upheaval? Are you struggling with an addiction to a substance or to a behavior (e.g. food addiction, gambling addiction)? Do you feel completely defeated because you don't have the coping tools to remain sober? I have been working in the field of addictions for the past 10 years and have been a primary therapist and Clinical director of several detox/residential facilities in the Los Angeles area. I am open to doing individual, couples and family therapy. I have 5 years of experience working with eating disorders. I have ten years of experience working in the addiction field and I have treated co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and any other type of mood or personality disorder. I think that my approach is collaborative and compassionate. I understand that anyone suffering with an addition or mental health issue, can feel a strong sense of shame and stigma. My hope is that the stigma of mental health treatment can change to one of hope and empowerment. The opposite of shame is compassion (great words by Brene Brown).
