What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe that each client has needs, goals and a comfort level specific to them. The therapeutic interventions utilized must be tailored to the individual. This collaborative effort results in clients that are happier and are more fulfilled in life. To begin with, I'd like to spend 10-15 minutes chatting about what your needs are and if we might be a good match. You'll find me to be warm, non-judgmental and welcoming. What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we begin your journey, I will ask various questions about your reason for coming to counseling, your physical and mental history, past issues regarding family and anything else that might be relevant. This information is gathered to help me to clinically assess possible goals for counseling. We begin to develop rapport which is vital in a counseling relationship. You and I will work together at pace you are comfortable with, however, some gentle challenges and thought provoking questions will come from me during our work together. I think my broad based history will provide you a meaningful and productive experience.
