“Joe is really great at helping me see the bigger picture and not harping on the little things. He really encourages me to move forward and see the positive even when people are testing my patience. Him talking with me about the Bible helps a lot because it reminds me that I am not in this alone.”

“Joe does a great job of balancing out my thoughts on hard topics. I feel that there is no pressure to give a right or wrong answer, and he ropes in the things that matter to me most which is my faith and family.”

Getting to know Joe Calhoun
I hold a master’s degree in social work from Florida State University. With over 20 years of experience as a Clinical Therapist, I have had the privilege of working with many diverse populations. I believe all people have the potential to live healthy, happy, and fulfilling lives, though sometimes we need support when facing life’s challenges. I quickly build rapport with my clients by meeting them where they are and listening closely to understand them as unique individuals. This approach fosters a healthy and fulfilling therapeutic relationship where clients feel supported and equipped with the tools they need to overcome challenges and live more meaningful lives.
I specialize in treating addiction, anxiety, anger management, behavioral problems, co-dependency, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, self-harm, spirituality, stress, suicidal thoughts, PTSD, and more. I use various evidence-based interventions such as CBT, RET, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing to help clients achieve their treatment goals.

In regards to my therapist. This is my second day of therapy. It was very comforting to know that my therapist has worksheets and it starts from the beginning.
My session was good I got a lot off my chest and then we followed his directives by looking at the family tree.
I was also diagnosed with PTSD recently and he walked me through via explanation to understand what it means. I really appreciated that.
I think Joe is a great therapist.
