The decision to initiate this healing process for you is very significant and a true testament to your strength. This collective effort will be driven by you, and my small part will hopefully foster a journey of rediscovery of the depth of your strength and capabilities you have not lost, but perhaps experiences and life events temporarily shifted you away from accessing those abilities. There is no set script that identifies when the “right” time for therapy is. If you feel this could be the time, then I am committed to helping work through the “thick and thin”. My approach With family systems and a multi-cultural perspective, there is an emphasis on mutual understanding and respect without prejudice or bias. I have been very fortunate to have been trained, mentored, and use a variety of trauma treatment modalities, including Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PET), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy utilized for over 15 years. Where appropriate, other approaches such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered, along with complementary therapies such as mindfulness and motivational interventions, are incorporated. Sometimes we adopt certain behaviors and tendencies around a construct or belief system that becomes unhealthy. I will develop a therapeutic approach incorporating interventions that break through those “stuck” points, but done in a safe way that builds your confidence over time. My focus Whether trying therapy for the first time or have tried it before and did not have a good experience, you are probably exploring therapy as an option because you’re not quite navigating situations involving work, family, personal life, and/or self in the ways that you’d like. Sometimes challenges emerge from recent events, while in other instances, some difficulties have a longer history and seem a bit more complicated to understand.
