Hi there, I'm John! Life can be challenging. Sometimes, we need support to navigate its ups and downs. I am here to help. My approach Therapy is a partnership. You are the expert on you, and I am there to help you find a healthier version of you. I'm not overly formal. I prefer to be relaxed and just have conversations while also working hard as a team. My focus I specialize in working with adults, adolescents, and couples who struggle with anxiety, depression, addiction, and self-esteem issues. My goal is to help you develop practical, effective skills using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy so that you can face life’s challenges with confidence and clarity. My communication style My approach is conversational, non-judgmental, and relaxed—I want you to feel comfortable and understood while also feeling challenged to break free from unhelpful patterns. My journey to mental healthcare While I've held several jobs and worked in various careers, I've always been drawing to helping. Years back, I found myself working for the SC Vocational Rehabilitaion Department and was given the opportunity to grow into my calling. I've been a professional counselor for a number of years and deeply appreciate the opportunity to challenge myself and help others. My goals for you You are the expert in your life. It can be helpful to get a different perspective. That's my role. I work with you to find alternatives and to build skills that you can use in your daily life as challenges arise. My first session with you In our first few sessions, we’ll take the time to get to know one another and ensure we have a strong, collaborative partnership. From there, we’ll work together to build new skills that empower you to manage your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in healthier ways.
