Psychotherapist
OH
Finding the right therapist shouldn't feel overwhelming. Whether you're navigating relationship conflict, anxiety, stress, life transitions, or feeling stuck, my goal is to help you move from where you are to where you want to be. I specialize in working with adults, men, and couples who are ready for more than just a place to vent. Together, we'll identify the patterns keeping you stuck, develop practical strategies for change, and build skills you can use long after our sessions end. My approach combines evidence-based therapies—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing—with over 15 years of experience helping people navigate life's challenges. As both a Licensed Professional Counselor and ordained pastor, I understand that many clients value integrating faith into counseling, while others prefer a completely secular approach. I'm comfortable working either way, depending on your preferences. Therapy should lead somewhere. If you're ready for meaningful growth and lasting change, I'd be honored to walk alongside you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My style is collaborative, honest, and practical. I'll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, challenge unhelpful thinking when needed, and help you develop concrete tools you can apply in everyday life. I don't take sides—especially when working with couples. Instead, I help each person understand their own patterns while learning to better understand one another. My goal isn't to decide who's right or wrong; it's to help create healthier ways of communicating, resolving conflict, and rebuilding connection. Clients often tell me they appreciate having clear direction and leaving each session with something tangible to work on. Progress usually happens between sessions, so I'll often recommend exercises, reflection questions, or communication skills to practice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session focuses on getting to know you. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, your personal history, your current challenges, and what you'd like to accomplish. Together, we'll identify clear goals so we have a shared direction for our work. From there, each session builds on your progress. We'll review what's been happening since we last met, identify patterns that may be contributing to your concerns, and work on practical strategies to help you move forward. Depending on your needs, we may explore thoughts, emotions, behaviors, communication patterns, or past experiences that continue to affect your present. My approach is structured but flexible. Some sessions focus on developing coping skills, while others involve processing difficult experiences or practicing healthier ways of thinking and communicating. For couples, sessions emphasize improving communication, resolving recurring conflicts, rebuilding trust when needed, and strengthening emotional connection.
