Getting to know John Daughtrey

All prescriptions furnished by UpLift Behavioral Health care providers are issued in accordance with applicable federal and state law as well as UpLift Behavioral Health policy. My journey to help others lead their best lives started over 15 years ago. I have worked with children, youth, and adults, offering a range of therapy services to guide them through life's challenges and most trying times. At Inner Sun, I use a blend of brain- and body-based therapies. My primary modality is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy, combined with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment therapy, and trauma therapy. Old neural pathways and negative memories can be updated with new adaptive information. EMDR uses eye movements and other forms of physical tapping and bilateral stimulation to help the brain process old, stuck memories and trauma. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Western New Mexico University and a Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University.
