Hello, I'm John-David Checkett—the first man in history to earn a master's degree in Women's Studies in Florida! I also hold a Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University. How many times has this happened to you: You’ve made an innocent remark, and the other person distorts it and blames you for the distortion, not for what you actually said? That’s called the Strawman Argument and is a common problem of communication—communication typically being the single biggest problem couples have. Communication is one of the social sciences, and one of my specialties, along with Women’s Studies, Pastoral Psychology, and Clinical Social Work. I help high-functioning men and women free themselves from low self-esteem and negative thinking. As a former officer in the Theosophical Society and a former professional psychic, I firmly believe in the value of spirituality to mental health. I can also help with exercise and nutrition to create a holistically healthy situation for you. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety or depression, relationship problems, or just feel overwhelmed, I’m here to help—even with time management! You might feel a bit nervous about starting therapy, but I’m extremely easy to talk to, knowledgeable in a wide variety of subjects, and very media-literate. Most people feel better after a session. In a short time, we can get you unstuck and back to living a happy life again.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
