What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that working with me is collaborative and direct. I am not a passive therapist. I will ask thoughtful questions, challenge patterns when needed, and help you move toward real change, not just insight. I work especially well with couples navigating conflict or betrayal, men who want to understand themselves more deeply, blended families adjusting to new roles, and first responders carrying stress that does not always have a place to land. I understand that many of my clients are used to being strong for others. Therapy is where you do not have to perform. You can expect honesty, structure, and a steady presence. My goal is to create a space where you feel respected, supported, and also gently pushed toward growth.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with understanding your story. In our first few sessions, I focus on learning what brings you in, what has been tried before, and what feels stuck. We clarify goals together so therapy has direction and purpose. From there, sessions are structured but flexible. With couples, we work on communication patterns, emotional triggers, accountability, and rebuilding trust when needed. With individuals, especially men and first responders, we explore stress responses, identity, relationships, and the impact of past experiences on current functioning. I integrate practical tools with deeper insight work so change happens both internally and behaviorally. Throughout our work, I check in on progress and adjust as needed. My goal is not long term dependence on therapy, but meaningful growth that carries into your everyday life.
