John Koth, LPC

Psychotherapist
MO
Hi there! I'm John, and I'm so glad you're here. Counseling is perhaps needed now more than ever. We've seen rising prices in Missouri and across the US, horrible events in Ukraine and Israel, and of course, the pandemic that affected everyone globally. Even without these challenges, life brings its own set of difficulties. Add the stressors we've all faced over the past few years, and it makes sense that many people, just like you, could benefit from additional support and professional help in processing life's hurdles. I graduated with my Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2010 and currently hold status as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri. My experience is vast, including full-time crisis work, youth case management, professional mental health counseling, assessment and referral coordination, and most recently, supervising adult case management services. I also work additional hours on some evenings and weekends because I love counseling and helping others achieve more in their lives. I believe we are all called to grow, and my hope is that as we work together, you'll find more peace, purpose, and abundance in your life. I am trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help those who suffer from trauma. Additionally, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques to address depression, anxiety, stress, and anger symptoms. My specialties include addiction, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anger management, anxiety, depression, PTSD, stress, suicidal ideation and self-harming, trauma, ADHD, life transitions, phobias, and sleep disorders. Clients have told me that I deliver a good balance of humor, empathy, and warmth, along with polite confrontation and necessary pushing when needed to help you dig deeper and grow more.
