Getting to know John Malone

I genuinely love being a mental health therapist and find deep meaning in helping others grow and heal. I am passionate about ending the stigma surrounding mental health and normalizing therapy. My approach is nonjudgmental, compassionate, and collaborative. I work to gently challenge unhelpful thought patterns while honoring each person’s unique complexity and strengths. I incorporate empathy and appropriate humor to foster connection, insight, and lasting change. A U.S. Army veteran, I have extensive experience working with individuals and couples navigating stress, trauma, and life transitions. I hold an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (UNT–Denton), and a PhD in Psychology (SMU–Dallas). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor–Supervisor (LPC-S) and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC). I specialize in anger management, trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, addiction recovery, emotional suppression, and sexual compulsivity. I also enjoy helping couples strengthen emotional connection, communication, trust, conflict resolution, and intimacy.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

It was difficult to only select 2. Gregg is the only therapist I have ever had that allows me to call him by his first name even though he has a doctorate. He is open, easy to talk to, and makes me feel like a person and not just a client. I feel like he genuinely cares.
He doesn’t tell me what I want to hear he makes me dig deep into my self and gets me to really talk about things that are haunting me and he responds with positive energy!
Gregg is both my personal as well as couples therapist. He does a good job challenging me one on one and pushing my growth. He also makes my wife feel comfortable in couples and heard. We are able to sit done in couples and really dive into conversations and come up with possible solutions.
