John Preble, LCSW

John Preble, LCSW

Psychotherapist
CA
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I primarily work with individuals couples, older teens to adults seeking help with depression, anxiety, mood swings, loss, trauma, survivors of childhood physical, emotional or sexual abuse and people in recovery for alcohol/substance abuse as well as the parents, partners of those with addictions or alcohol abuse. I believe therapy should consider the whole person, recognizing the complex balance of mind, body, spirit, and one's personal/social environment. Although you may meet criteria for a specific diagnosis, a diagnosis does not accurately describe who you are. Therapy is only effective when it is a collaborative effort working best with those who are ready to do the work. Therapy isn't something I do to you; it's a shared experience. My approach includes, Psycho-dynamic Therapy, aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a Person/Client Centered approach. My desire is for you to feel seen, heard, respected, safe and empowered. I believe you have strengths, resources and great potential. I will encourage you to discover/rediscover these during your journey. I want you to feel comfortable and welcome here, regardless of gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, spiritual beliefs, no religious or spiritual beliefs, abilities, sexual orientation or relationship status.
