WA
Hi there, I'm John! Whether you’re feeling stuck or simply want space to reflect, I am here to help you reclaim your time, energy, and peace. Therapy with me isn’t about forcing you into a mold. It’s about exploring patterns, honoring your unique wiring, and finding ways of living that align with your values. My approach Your motivation for seeking therapy is my primary focus. I will assess your unique needs and wiring to create an individualized approach. My integrative and relational style draws from relational-cultural theory, feminist and multicultural movements, psychodynamic theory, humanistic psychology, and neurobiology. My focus I work with teens and adults of all ages. Many of my clients are LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, or both, seeking a therapist who will affirm and understand their lived experience. I specialize in complexity, such as high-achieving folks struggling with everyday tasks, LGBTQIA+ folks navigating faith conflicts, or folks living with co-occurring disorders. My communication style My style is warm, engaged, and practical. I believe therapy should be an affirming, collaborative space where your story, identity, and strengths are at the center. I see you as the expert of your life, and I approach our work with curiosity, respect, and compassion. My journey to mental healthcare Becoming a therapist feels like a happy accident. One decision led to another, and my curiosity and relational nature carried me into this work. To be honest with you, I still find it strange and miraculous that therapy works. I've experienced it myself and studied the science behind it, but it still amazes me. My first session with you Our first meeting will be an invitation. We’ll talk about what brings you here, your history, and your hopes. You can share as much (or as little) as feels safe. I’ll answer your questions and we’ll decide together how to move forward at your pace.
