John Watson, LPC

Psychotherapist
PA
Hello, I'm John, and I'm glad you're here. With over 25 years of counseling experience, I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients and concerns. My journey began with an undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX, where I majored in Speech Communications and Human Relations and minored in Music. After some time in New York, I pursued my graduate degree in Counseling and Human Relations from Villanova University in Philadelphia, PA. I'm a National Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Pennsylvania and Missouri. Throughout my career, I've addressed a variety of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationships (familial, romantic, and friendships), substance use disorders, sexuality, sexual identity, gender identity and expression, as well as grief and loss. I have extensive experience working with young adults, late adolescents, LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, people in recovery from substance use disorders, and more recently, neurodivergent individuals and adults caring for aging parents. My therapeutic approach is centered on building a strong therapeutic relationship. I believe that our experiences and relationships significantly shape our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By understanding these influences, we can work together to create meaningful change in your life. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy working out, hiking, and indulging in all kinds of music. In fact, I have sung professionally in the (distant) past. I also love reading, binging great shows when I can, and spending quality time with friends and family. If you're looking for support and a path forward, I'm here to help. Let's work together to navigate the challenges you're facing and find a way to a more fulfilling life.
