Getting to know Johnathan Acosta
Hello, my name is Johnathan Acosta. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor residing in Boca Raton, FL. I am 33 years old and was born and raised in Florida. I specialize in treating mental health adult clients with MDD, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, GAD, as well as clients with issues related to LGBT. I have been in the field of mental health since 2017 where I started my career as a mental health technician at a stand-alone inpatient psychiatric center. While working for the psychiatric hospital, I took care of all different client demographics including high acuity psychiatric clients, clients struggling with addiction and sobriety, adolescents, and geriatric clients. I personally come from a family of mental health and substance abuse and while working as an MHT, I made the decision to pursue a career of being a therapist. After graduation and becoming a Registered Mental Health Counseling Intern, I worked as a group therapist for IOP at the psychiatric hospital, outpatient telehealth therapist for FL and MA, and finally working as an adolescent therapist inside a psychiatric facility. I started this new platform in 2022 as a therapist over Telehealth and cherish the ability to help so many people regardless of location.
