Getting to know Jojo R
Hi ! I'm Jojo and thank you for taking the time to read this! I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California and I work with adults. I'd like to acknowledge how therapy can be overwhelming, intimidating and at times tiring, so I appreciate you being here.
I prioritize working collaboratively with my clients, meaning we'll work together to set an environment that is supportive and emotionally safe. I am motivated by Social Justice and I strive to ensure that my clients have a place in this world where their voices are being heard. My approach mostly surrounds Liberation Psychology, Decolonizing and Destigmatizing Mental Health Care, Person- Centered, Identity, Attachment & Emotion Focused while providing Culturally safe and sensitive care, along with Gender Affirming Therapy Practices.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session we'll discuss how I can help support you and what brought you to therapy. I will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding anything about therapeutic process itself. I'll ask questions about your story including your background, your struggles, your experience with therapy and your hopes. We'll set a good foundation on how to move forward.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Some of my strengths is having the capacity to listen and deeply understand my clients struggles and concerns. I carry the patience to meet my client where their at in their healing journey and build trust. I intentionally integrate both tools I learned and authentic interpersonal skills. Sharing laughs with my clients, are one of my favorite moments.

My passion involves collaborating and supporting individuals who's identity is part of a marginalized group. Supporting LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals who have and continue to be impacted by an oppressive systems and acknowledge the roots of their trauma.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider's self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan's benefits.
